As there is huge responsibility in living with a captive parrot, we want to ensure that you have the education and tools necessary to provide a safe and healthy home for your new family member.
Things To Consider
Parrots are a lifestyle and living with one is a very different experience than living with a cat or dog.
Parrots are complex social animals with emotional and physical needs.
Parrots can be loud, some can achieve 135 decibels
Parrots can be messy, vacuums and floor mops become your best friends
Parrots can be destructive, can you live without baseboards or trim?
Parrots can live 80+ years, will you?
Living with a parrot can be one of the most rewarding relationships of your life!
Adoption Policies
We adopt within Canada only
You must be able to travel to the greater Vancouver area to meet us and the birds
A home visit with a representative of our choosing is mandatory
Participation in our online Bird Basics class is required
We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 19
We do not adopt parrots to be given as gifts
Window screens are mandatory
Having other animals does not exclude you from adoption, however a behavior assessment of the animals in the home is done. Most importantly we assess the ability of the adults in the home to manage a multi species home
