Cage cleaning · Feeding and watering · Toy-making · General cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors · Laundry · Socializing and interacting with the parrots

    Becoming a Volunteer

    Volunteers must be 19 years of age. Volunteering is not suitable for anyone with tree nut or peanut allergies due to their common use in parrot foods.

    • Complete the application form to the left
    • We ask for a minimum 3 month commitment
    • A Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch to discuss your application
    • You will be required to attend an in person orientation at our Ladner location prior to volunteering.
    • You will be scheduled for a shift.
    • At the shelter volunteers will receive hands-on instruction from experienced volunteers until they become comfortable handling their responsibilities.
