About This Bird

Donald (Green Wing Macaw) and Bernie (Harlequin Macaw) are a pair of former World Parrot Refuge macaws. Donald is the shy one of the pair and typically only interacts with people when food is involved, but he is getting more and more comfortable around the people he sees regularly at the shelter (especially with those who give him snacks!). Bernie, on the other hand, is not shy with humans in the slightest and his alpha male personality combined with his large size can be fairly intimidating to those inexperienced with Macaws. The two, unlike the certain humans that share the same names, love each other very much and are quite protective of one another, but they do have their quarrels. They can be a challenging pair, but in a stable home environment with the right people who are willing to give them the time and dedication they deserve they will be lovely companions.
