About This Bird
Sisco is a 34 year old Yellow Naped Amazon. He was with an older woman, who for whatever reason left the home and Sisco went to her adult son. We don’t know much about what his life was like with the son, but based on how he acts towards men now, we can imagine it wasn’t a great time for him.
He was clipped when he was adopted from the son, but isn’t clipped now. He doesn’t fly much, but will if startled or scared. He generally likes to be alone but will sometimes approach for scratches.
He loves showers, both with a spray bottle and actual human showers! He also likes bananas, grapes, apples, peas in the pod, oatmeal, corn on the cob and almonds.
He understands the “step-up” cue and is usually moved using a handheld perch or dowel.
Sisco would do best in a home with experienced parrot guardians who can offer patience, enrichment, and a respectful approach to his boundaries.
